THREAT LEVEL INCREASED TO CRITICAL (30.06.07)

SERIOUS INCIDENT IN CENTRAL LONDON (29.06.07)
In the early hours of 29 June 2007, an explosive device was discovered in a vehicle parked outside a club in Haymarket, London W1. It was safely defused by Metropolitan Police explosives officers and the suspect vehicle has since been removed from the scene. An investigation has been launched into the incident and the Metropolitan Police have appealed for assistance from any members of the public who were in the area yesterday evening or the early hours of this morning. TERRORIST CELL SENTENCED TO 136 YEARS (15.06.07)
Seven terrorists were today sentenced to a total of 136 years' imprisonment following a joint investigation in 2004 by the police and Security Service. At the time, the investigation was the largest counter-terrorist operation ever launched in the UK. The seven, who were associates of the convicted Al Qaida terrorist Dhiren Barot, pleaded guilty to or were found guilty of charges including conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions with intent to endanger life.
